We’re happy to offer an exchange or store credit (return shipping to our Brisbane warehouse is at your cost). If your item arrives faulty, we’ll replace it free of charge. With sustainability at the heart of our process, we craft our rugs to-order to help reduce waste and textile overproduction. Our made-to-order rugs are sent directly from our supplier in India to your doorstep to reduce our carbon footprint.
Made-To-Order Information: Once you place your order, please allow approximately 10-14 days for your rug to be handcrafted. Your order will be sent directly from our supplier in India to your door, which can take up 7 business days depending on your location.
Shipping: We ship worldwide! Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on your location and order weight. International shipping can be expensive, so if you’d like a customised quote, or a quote for express domestic shipping, email us at hello@hunterandnomad.com.au.

Yes, our standard size rugs (140x200cm, 160x230cm, and 150cm round) can be washed in a conventional machine.
Larger made-to-order rugs are very heavy when wet, so we recommend either professional cleaning or taking the rug to your local laundromat. Each rug comes with a reusable carry bag, which makes transporting it much easier.
Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle with a small amount of laundry detergent (standard sizes only)
Use a dryer at your local laundromat for best drying results
Vacuum once dry to bring softness back
Spot clean spills immediately with a damp cloth (no harsh chemicals)
Yes, shedding is normal at first because our rugs are made from pure cotton. This will settle over time. To help:
Always use a rug underlay, this reduces shedding and absorbs shock
Vacuum lightly once a week (avoid strong brush settings)
A cold wash cycle and dry can also help speed up the process.
Rugs can develop folds during shipping. These will relax naturally after a short time. Using a rug underlay, placing furniture on the corners, or rolling the rug the opposite way can help speed this up.
